About Client:

Our client is one of the premier institutions in the country with a 50+ year heritage of providing high quality, value-based and affordable education. The group today caters to over 42,000+ students across both Government, Non-Government and Aided Schools. It has a staff strength of 1500, including over 1,200 teaching staff. Four of our clients branches have been consistently ranked amongst the top 30 schools in the country.

Key Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of accountant include (but are not restricted to) :

1. Accounting (Both payable and receivable): The accountant manages the accounts payable and receivable. They process invoices, issue payments, and track outstanding balances.

2. Payroll: The accountant is responsible for processing payroll for all employees. This includes calculating wages, taxes, and other deductions, and ensuring that payments are made on time.

3. Compliance: The accountant ensures that there is compliance with all relevant financial regulations and laws. This includes monitoring changes to regulations and adjusting financial practices accordingly.

4. Audit preparation: The accountant prepares for audits by ensuring that all financial records and reports are up-to-date and accurate.

5. Budgeting: The accountant is responsible for developing and managing the budget. They work closely with the COO and Manager - Accounts to create a budget that meets the institution's needs.

6. Financial Analysis/ reporting: The accountant does financial analysis and prepares financial reports and statements that provide a clear picture of the financial health. They also ensure that all financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

Overall, the accountant plays a critical role in ensuring that the financial operations run smoothly and effectively. They must have a strong understanding of financial management principles and practices, as well as excellent organizational and analytical skills.

They should also have strong communication skills, as they will work closely with Institution's Management, administrators, faculty, and staff on financial matters.


Requisites

Accounts Degree.

Proficient in Tally, Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Office Tools.

Knowledge of Indian Statutory laws, as applicable to the Institution

Minimum 5+ years of experience as an Accountant; preferably at Schools or Audit firms
