Key Responsibilities
1. Narrative & Technical Assembly
Offline Editing: Reviewing raw rushes to select the best takes and building a "radio edit" (the story flow) before adding visuals.
Pacing & Rhythm: Mastering the "invisible cut." Ensuring the video breathes where necessary and hits high-energy peaks during key moments.
Multi-Platform Adaptation: Reformatting a single "Hero" film into 9:16 Shorts/Reels, 4:5 social posts, and 16:9 cinematic versions.
2. The "Finishing" Suite (Online Editing)
Color Grading: Using DaVinci Resolve or Lumetri to create a consistent "look" or "LUT" that matches the brand’s emotional tone.
Sound Design: Mixing high-quality audio, including leveling dialogue, adding foley, and sync-licensing music that elevates the edit.
Motion Graphics: Integrating lower thirds, call-to-actions (CTAs), and dynamic typography using After Effects.
3. Workflow & AI Integration
Asset Management: Organizing terabytes of footage with strict naming conventions (e.g., Project_Date_Version_01).
AI Optimization: Utilizing AI tools (like Adobe Sensei or Runway) for "Generative Fill," automated rotoscoping, and AI-driven transcription/captioning to speed up the workflow.
Archiving: Ensuring projects are "project-packaged" so they can be reopened years later without missing media.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Software : Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro,After Effects & Blender (3D integration).
Hardware : Knowledge of codecs (ProRes, H.265), proxies, and bitrates.Experience with RED/ARRI raw workflows.
Creative : Strong sense of "The Hook" (capturing attention in 3 seconds).Ability to storyboard and direct B-roll shoots.
Speed : Ability to hit tight deadlines (24-hour turnarounds for social).Mastery of "Keyboard-only" editing (speed-run style).
